CC BY License

As a composer, I'm dedicated to creating a library of original music under the Creative Commons (CC BY) license, offering filmmakers, content creators, and media artists professional, high-quality soundtracks without the burden of costly licensing fees. Creators are free to use the music tracks from this library for their projects, including commercial ones, as long as attribution is provided.

🟧 Download MP3 tracks for free from my Creative Commons music library. New music tracks will be added to the library periodically.

🟧 For hi-resolution WAV files, you can purchase digital tracks and albums on Bandcamp

🟧 Join my mailing list and get direct updates on new album releases.

- FAQs -

What does "attribution" mean under CC BY?

Attribution means giving proper credit to the original creator of the work.

Attribution format:

"Track Title" by Pamela Yuen https://linktr.ee/pamelayuen
Licensed under CC BY 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Is the music free to use?

Yes, as long as you credit me.

While most of my music are free to use, an optional donation of £5 for each track used is highly appreciated.

Can I use your music for free in videos on my monetized YouTube channel?

Yes, as long as you credit me. Credit should be included in the video description or in the video itself.

Can I use your music for high-budget projects like feature films?

Yes, as long as you credit me. Credits should be included in the film’s credit section, either before or after the main film section.

Can I use your music in streaming platforms such as Twitch?

Yes, as long as you credit me. You can add a “Music” section on your profile page and include the credit there.

Can I use your music in video games?

Yes, as long as you credit me. Credits are typically included on a “Credits” screen, often found in the settings or main menu.

Can I use your music in live productions?

Yes, as long as you credit me. Credits should appear in the printed program. If there is no program, a brief voice announcement is appropriate.

Can I use your music in podcasts / audio productions

Yes, as long as you credit me. Credits are usually delivered as a spoken acknowledgment, typically at the end of the episode.

Can I use your music in TV / radio advertisements?

A Perpetual Gold License is commonly used for ads. Otherwise, credit may be displayed visually within the production or delivered as a voice-over for audio-only formats.

Can I modify your music under CC BY?

Yes, you can modify, remix, or adapt the music, but you must still provide proper attribution and indicate that changes were made.

Attribution format:

Based on "Track Title" by Pamela Yuen, modified for "Project Title".

Can I use your music for free if I can’t provide credit?

If you are interested in using a music track in a TV and radio ad, corporate presentation, commercial, on-hold music, event, or other mediums where attribution is not possible, please obtain a license here.

You may want a license if:

  • Attribution is not possible
  • Your project requires a clean, professional appearance with no external credits.
  • You want to avoid mentioning additional creators in your credits.
  • You’re creating branded content that should appear entirely original.

Are there restrictions on how I can use CC BY licensed music?

You can use the music in most projects. However, you cannot:

  • Resell in isolation – any resale must have the music synchronised with other media. Sound effects, or recorded vocals or dialogue layered over the track do not count as synchronisation.
  • Redistribute through music distribution services (e.g. DistroKid, CDBaby), or submit to streaming services (e.g. Spotify) or online stores (e.g. iTunes).
  • Claim ownership of the track or register it with a copyright collection society (e.g. ASCAP, BMI, Content ID).
